Ok guys I took out the 4 speed box in the 41 and replaced the bearings. The throwout bearing looked ok and I lightly greased it when I put it back. The tranny works well and the bad driveline vibration is gone. When I depress the clutch there is a tinkling noise. I'm wondering if the throwout bearing doesn't have enough lube as this didn't happen before the tranny was pulled. I was going to replace the throwout bearing anyway but as it takes a couple of weeks to get parts from the States and I needed the truck back on the road, I didn't. I suppose the questions are, Is it ok to use the truck until the new bearing arrives? Also if I use long guide bolts will I have enough room to replace the bearing without completely pulling off the gearbox? It was interesting refitting this old box on my own.
