Check out your local Marine Supply store. I used polished Stainless " Deck Hatch " latches. Welded the post portion into the top of the tailgate ( inside face ), and screwed the latch portion onto the inside of the box at the stake location. My tailgate seldom if ever gets opened, and this provided a clean solution for not much $$
