Years back I re-wired my stock 49 using connectors, wires and the schematic in the shop manual. I went wire to wire and it was pretty simple and works perfectly. Now I am thinking of going with one of the big name harness kits because my ignition and headlight switches are getting old and I really don't like the squirrel's nest of wires under the fuse box. It would be nice to have new components like switches and real fuses.
Maybe I have a mental block but when I read how easy it is to install one I these kits I start asking myself questions and the one which comes to mind is how does the juice get to the new fuse box? I know its a dumb question but I assume it comes from the same source as the original. And with my add-on turn signals will I have to do some complicated rewiring?
