Your pump has been changed to a much later unit. Is it inside a reservoir with the driveshaft going directly to the pump input shaft? If so then you have a piston pump that is capable of a LOT more pressure than your old piston cylinder will withstand. Harsh likely came into being after your hoist was retired. Anyway please send the pictures.
