plastigageing every main and rod bearing makes it over twice the work/fun. romancing every part into place is the only way to know if it's right or not.i hate to do it sometimes, but it's part of the fun of a rebuild. i feel it's pretty accurate, but be aware if you got a small speck under the bearing even a human hair you clearence would be out. i have had a bearing that was slightly out and wiped the backside and it was in. good luck.
