As Dale said, you might want to check Patrick's for a 3.55 ring and pinion. I swapped my 3 speed for a non synchro 4 speed and have the 3.55's. It's not a truck you wife would drive, but I like it that way. Double clutching all the way. Makes a nice whine and very satisfying to drive correctly. Call Patrick's. He has a torque tube adapter kit to put a saginaw tranny into a 48-54 1/2 ton. Maybe you could get a newer bell housing, saginaw, torque tube........ but the again you have to change the pedal arrangement. Back to square one.
