I have Langdon's dual Carter Weber's on my '54 235 and I'm still having a little trouble with the electric chokes. I'm trying to determine if my chokes are working as advertised. I'm still having trouble with the engine dying about 30 seconds after sitting off for about 10 minutes. It seems as though it's starving for fuel. I have to pump the accelerator many times and let it cool a few minutes before it will start again. It's really got me confused.
Is the following logic correct?
I connected both chokes to a lead to my ignition. The chokes are normally "closed" and when the key is turned on, this heats a coil that opens the chokes as it heats?
I sure would like to have more control over the choke. Is there a way to convert to manual? Is there anything else that would cause this?
I have ruled out vapor lock as an issue.
The engine runs flawlessly otherwise.
