I also have the same set up on my 261. My chokes were acting crazy,basically they weren't working.I fused mine at the ignition switch.While testing and setting up,I blew the fuse,didn't realize it.I put a new 10 amp fuse in and she has been purring ever since.

Have you tried calling Tom Langdon and let him trouble shoot the problem ?
