What engine do you have?
What is the current idle speed?
What is the timing set at?
What is the baseline condition of the tune of your engine?
There is nothing wrong with carbs. They work just fine when used as intended.
I work on carbs on a regular basis for both performance and economy, with pretty good success. PM me if you want to.
