My suggestion would be to find a mechanic in your area that works on old cars. You can usually get a good recommendation from other classic car owners... I found my guy from a recommendation at my local NAPA store.

I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but from the way you describe the problem it doesn't appear that you have enough basic knowledge to tackle the myriad of problems you mention here, even if someone would be generous enough to tell you what all to do.

Go find a good mechanic and get yourself on the road to a better understanding of your truck... guys who work on old cars are usually pretty decent and he might even let you watch or help.
