Hey guys.. Fixed the manifold leak.. Threw in better spark plugs and took the oil bath off and upgraded to a better air filter system for the single barrel Rochester.. Definitely running heap loads better.. But my gas mileage still sucks..

Anyway, decided for sure to go ahead with a higher ring and pinion for starters.. The OD is something I will consider later.. From what I understand, I can get a whole new rear end for cheaper than taking apart the one I have and rebuilding it. I was told that those rear ends were all the same up to 1970 or something like that. And that they will bolt right up.. I'm hoping this is true.. But thought I would put it out to someone here who might have experience with say, swapping out an early 60's rear with a 1970 rear end.. I guess the idea there is to save a couple bucks, get a newer rear end and be able to find replacement parts easier.. I'm not sure if I have the 12 or 10 bolt.. Have to look tomorrow.. But I have to loose the 4.11 R&P.. It's way to low for my use..

So I'm floating around with the idea of a 3.55 or even as high as a 3.08.. My only concern is it dogging to much with the 3.08..? I haul nothing more than light ladders and paint cans.. I also have a small tool box bolted in the bed.. It actually sits inside the bed so you can't even see it unless you walk up on the truck.. At most it weighs 200 pounds when filled with my tools and gear..
So there you have it.. Plan "A".. Any input would be appreciated..
