Have a '59 John Deere 435D with a 2 cylinder Detroit diesel that ran away after a fresh rebuild. Began burning oil from its oil bath breather but luckily it had a non original air cut off built in so I was able to shut it off just in time. A fuel cut off would not have helped. I was unhappy with the unoriginal cutoff until after this event happed. I would have had a completely ruined, freshly rebuilt John Deere.
