A 'runaway motor' is when the motor runs well beyond the governor RPM limits, it is beyond the operator's control to shut down. The engine will turn so fast that it will sling the belts off and the pistons will strike the valves. The engine will literally self destruct. Its about the worst thing to happen to a motor short of seizing it up due to lack of oil. JAMES
