You will need agood set of snap ring pliers & a press. Changing to a 4 speed does not change the final drive ratio & would be more work changing the floor plate. If the noise in in the lower gears & is quiter in high it probably is brg. noise. You can put ring & pinion gears from a 50-54 pass.car with powerglide in the rear end to get better highway driving.
