I have to say that brakes locking up are not a normal thing with these old trucks. The brakes on my 1951 1 Ton work very well. They stop straight every time. Now there is no proportioning valve so it probably is possible to lock the big rear drums with no load on the back, if you really want to do that. However, for normal driving, they work just fine.
