okay, here's the update...took the crank to the machine shop and had them check it. Just needed about a thousandth or so worth of room. Minor, like all suspected. Since the crank has been turned twice now to date, the machinist opted to mill down the respective sides on each thrust bearing to get the clearance needed. End play is within specs. So what do y'all think? In addition, I put in the bearings this evening and placed the crank in position. It should be noted that I greased all the bearings above and below with some Engine Assembly Grease from Carquest. I understand this is like lithium grease and will break down as the engine is run in. My question is, how hard should it be to turn the crank? I am having problems getting it to turn in place and I am having a hard time getting the caps to seat flush with the block. I have read on previous posts were it is necessary to step the cap bolts to torque spec. Think I still have a clearance issue or do I just need to get the journals lubed first to spin it?

Whad you do?!?
