These photos of the
Suburban driver's seat control are a a little unclear and a little misleading.
I cannot easily get into my Suburban because it hiberating in a tight space in my garage.
The placement of the large spring on the passenger side is mis-leading because I have not placed the spring in its proper notch at the rear side of the sliding bar. I did this because I decided that I would never move the seat once it was in its rear-most position (giving more belly-to-steering-wheel space than can be obtained in a pickup cab).
I have used white grease under the little skid-plates on the top side of the sliding rails of the seat frame (these photos are very unclear and the color-rendition of the white grease makes it look brown/rusted).
There is no rod/wire that goes from side to side of the seat frame, as there is a full-width pickup cab seat.
