It will take a system down to ten to the minus third atmospheres. I’ve used it to check a few Trico vacuum motors and if they won’t work with that pump, they won’t work. Vacuum is pretty tricky, you really need a tightly sealed system for it to do it’s job. A vacuum cleaner pumps a lot of volume but not a very high vacuum. What you need is hi-vac and low volume. Your engine or any engine is most likely the best vacuum pump available to the average Joe. Denny Graham Sandwich, IL
