I did have exact same problems, but I changed my fuel pump and that did the magic. However honestly in the cold season, I believe the fuel made after 1972 will evaoprate and that is why Carburator bowl is empty, In summer you should have this problem. For now my truck starts rightup with new fuel pump in a 32 degress, it takes little more cranks and starts
