Your Serial number is your VIN number. The only thing that has change is what they call those all important numbers that the DMV wants.
Most likely someone misread a number when it went through the DMV, been there done that. You should be able to get a corrected title w/out any problems once you explain it to your DMV. The worst thing that may happen is a DMV Officer or State Policeman may have to come out & verify the number on your tag...Joe
