I think the TH400 response was based on the subject correcting question I asked.

As for a reccomendation regarding a crossmember versus the brackets, I think I'd go with the crossmember. I think it will be stronger, and if you look at most cars the small block Chevy has been installed in they generally have a crossmember under the motor in about the same position.

Hopefully, dropping the pan will be a rare thing once the truck is together!
