The zinc plate is a FAKE. I checked it and it comes up as a 1962 Chevy Impala. Is there any OTHER way to figure out if this truck is really a 34 or if it really is a 35 with the correct engine.

Now by my limited knowledge on these trucks I assumed it was a 34 by the tiny chevy emblem that is on the radiator "shell". I do not know for sure but I though 35 had the wing emblem on the "grill". All the information that I can get with differences in the body would be helpful. I can then look for these and make an edu'macated guess. Anything on the frame?

NOW, getting back to the engine that I bought in MI.......35Trucker, I believe you when you say casting number has been read incorrectly. I am going to check tomorrow and see what the casting # "3" looks like ON MY TRUCK ENGINE(837591-2)and compare it to the misread casting # "8" from the MI engine. WHY DIDNT I THINK OF THIS BEFORE ??? ohwell
