Dennis - from my experience w/ a
damaged control on one of the TF radios I'm dealing w/ I'd say yours is toast - would advise NOT trying to take a good control apart to that point, as it's likely you'd not get it back together to be functional - of course if you open the can on the one you have you may find that it is fixable, but you'll have to unsolder it and remove from the radio to try that
