and that is a great story! To have dated the daughter of such a legend is really something. I always enjoy his music and it carries great memories of the man performing. He never got "reinvented" like modern artists sometimes do when their managers think they aren't making enough money.
When I was working on radios in my early teens, one of the checks was to adjust the trimmer using a station in the upper part of the band. For me that station was CFGM, 1310 and it was all country music. I got a good grounding in that style of music, at the time.
