#26170 03/06/2002 11:24 PM | Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 3,458 Extreme Gabster | | Extreme Gabster Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 3,458 | I like the idea of using 2 or 3 carbs on a inline 6 because it keeps the intake manifold runners short and evens out the mixture between all the cylinders. Short runners make for better throttle response and easier cold starts. I am thinking of going either triple rochesters (downdraft) or triple mikunis or webers (sidedraft) with a custom manifold. You can find matched sets of used mikunis on ebay for pretty cheap (from motorcycles and snomobiles). For tuning purposes I will plumb in oxygen sensors in a tubular header exhaust manifold.
The only advantage that a single 4 bbl has over multiple one bbls is tuning- the multiple carbs have to be well matched.
