It has the stock 235 6-banger. I just got it running right. Still have to fix a bad oil leak then it's ready for full time service. Tranny- 3 on the tree. The wheels were a nice bonus. At first I wanted late model Chevy wheels but I changed my mind after looking at them a while. Need center caps bad. Driving it was pretty scary at first. After replacing the front tires and having my uncle adjust the steering box it got better. It's still a handfull. My daily driver is an RX7 so it's quite a change swapping rides with an old school steering metal monster.
This machine has come a long way. Drove it tonight to get icecream with the kids. Before - it was a loud rattle machine full of holes and exhaust leaks(there was no rubber anywhere). After fresh metal work and paint then new rubber and now carpet, it's a totaly different machine. I can't wait to get the oil leaks fixed. Unfortunately it means replacing the rear seal, oil pan gasket, valve cover gaskets, did I miss anything? That's what happens to old engines when they sit in the Arizona heat for a few years without running. I need the middle back seat if anyone knows a good source. Someone is trying to sell both back seats on ebay right now but he wants a little much for them. | | |
