You will not get oil to build up pressure to oil the engine till you get an old distributor, remove the gear from the distributor, weld a nut where the rotor went on, now install it in the engine and use a speed handle to turn the oil pump. There is an oil passage cast in the distributor that lets the oil go around it to feed the valve train. By using this method you fill the oil filter, pump up the lifters, lube the total engine so it is ready to fire up without worrying about harming the bearings and other parts of the engine.
