The throttle cable goes from the dash, through the firewall, and then routes over to the carburetor. The wire then attaches to the carburetor ("carb"). If you have someone push the gas pedal down you can see a lever move on the carb. Right around there is where the throttle wire will hook up. I'm sure someone can dig up a picture for you.
