I now have a 55 2nd series tank, I was going to order a new sender, but the sender fuel line size is 5/16. I noticed that there is a fuel tank drain at the bottom of the tank. Has anyone tried soldering a 6AN fitting to the bottom of the tank and using 3/8 braided hose to the fuel pump? I know the sender hole is the same size as the autometer sender that is used in the JAZ fuel cells, so installing a sender without the pickup tube is not an issue.
