I'm not sure if your truck is too old, but I had (have) my '65 insured with a national company too. (SF) My deductible is only $250.00. I pay about $35.00 a month to insure my truck for a little over $8000.00. My truck was just hit this Monday by a non-insured driver and it's already in the shop being worked on. The only limitation they put on me was no more than 3500 miles a year. Pretty do-able for the most part.
