Generally, the part (I think Clevis is his name) will be a tall U-shaped piece with a hemishperical pocket at the bottom to seat the swaged ball, and bolt or pin holes at the top. Light duty units will have a slot to put the cable in through the side. Heavier loads require the ball to be swaged after the cable is threaded through the hole (sort of like flaring the brake line with the connector already on)
Check the hardware stores, you may find some the right size.
