If I were looking at that truck -- and it sounds pretty close to cherry to me -- I'd leave it alone... If for no other reason than historical preservation.
(Of course, it doesn't hurt that I've got a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mentality.)
Obviously, you'd have to examine your needs/wants and see if it will meet them.
