It seems to me that if you can lower the R's enough, it doesn't matter how oldie the motor is. But there are other considerations. With a 350 engine, my '57, 3600 can go over 65 mph and more, but do I want to??? Now that I put 19.5 inch wheels on it, the R's have been greatly reduced. However those speeds exceed the truck's technological ability to gofast without serious upgrades to the steering and suspension. You can gallup on a camel but would you want to????
