That's almost the same setup as my 38 except mine has a hex head bolt. Try getting a wrench on it. :mad: If I'm reading you correctly the bolt won't clear the timing gear cover, allowing it come out? There's a chance the threaded end is hanging up in the motor mount & not allowing the bolt to "lean" far enough to pull out. If so you might try jacking the front of the engine enough to get the motor mount out (an inch or two should do it). That might give you enough room to pull the bolt out. A floor jack & 2x4 should be all you need to jack the engine up a bit. Good luck.
