It's been such a long time since I did this but...
Did you remove the cab's floor tranny panel? Maybe that is not necessary though...

Boy, with the propeller raised out of the way, cross member removed, seems like there would be lots of room for an easy removal. Hopefully someone will come in with yet another and better idea..
