4onthefloor, thank for your reply, yes I pulled the bolt-on cdossmember.
Mechainiac, I pulled the transmission straight back on the pins and let the ball enage the rear of the transmission as far as it will go inside. Still not enough room for the front spline to clear the clutch housing. Thanks
