I'd suggest going to eBay, plug in your zip and a radius, select a range of years, select make and see what they're going for and what condition.
I've had 3 notes left on my windshield offering to buy my truck in 2 weeks. In the paper I saw 2 same-age trucks in worse condition for $5500 yet I found mine in North-central California for under $1000.
