We bought a '74 Chevy Nova project that someone else had begun. The Holley 4-bbl carb had been pirated from I don't know where, and had no choke. We put a new Edelbrock carb on so we could get it started on cold mornings.
When we pulled the old Holley, we found the PO had lost the linkage between the primaries and secondaries. He had replaced the linkage with:
KITE STRING!
It's amazing how much better that 350 ran with a good carb and secondaries that open all the way....
