the first part of the page jrod linked is a mess - you need to scroll down and click on the thumbnails for the scans of manual pages to get a better understanding of the GMC numbering -
here and pages following are you saying you have a forward control delivery? that number you put up top isn't a complete "vin" so maybe it's the body makers sequence number, or just the serial # part of the vin - if you have a step van type rig, the body wasn't done by GM, so no telling what the vin might be
