I would not put a T5 behind anything over 350hp. I owned a 1983 Z28 with the T5. It came from the factory with 195hp. I swapped the engine for a 375hp 350 and could never get the transmission to shift well under hard accerleration. If you plan on just putting around, it would work nice, but since you have 800hp, I know that you will operate at WOT a few times.
