Gentlemen,

What would You all consider the maximum possible overbore in a 261 Chevy engine?
Do You consider possible going to 3 7/8"?
A very good friend of mine is considering a high performance 261, so I was thinking of boring and stroking it. Stroking is the easiest part, since we can offset grind the crank, but overboring is a little suspect, since here the first bigger piston available is the 3 7/8", I'm into messing with an used block to check it out, but would like to hear from You first. The same question for decking the engine, how much is considered safe?

Thanks.
