But why wouldn't the same laws to protect truck drivers not apply to car drivers, whose cars had locks on the driver's side?
Certainly federal law makers wouldn't value the life of a truck driver over that of a car driver.
There must be something missing here, there are some stupid old laws on the books but they usually pertain to city or state and not federal law.
Does anybody know if this was a Chevy thing or if all trucks of that era had no driver's side door locks?
