I finally fixed my throttle woes! In, like, 5 mins.
If you'll remember I'd complained about not having enough throttle to open the secondaries on the 4 barrel sitting on my 292. Throttle response was okay but not sensitive or crisp. Now it's very crisp, but not overly sensitive. I found there was enough room for adjustment to get about another half inch or so of throttle. The first quarter inch or so of throttle was only to take the slack out of unit. After that you opened the primaries. Now that slack has been removed and another quarter inch or so of new throttle has been found. The difference is very noticeable.
I just went for a 6 mile test drive down the interstate. Before the adjustment acceleration was okay (at best) on level paveway and non-existent on inclines. Now the acceleration is great in overdrive on inclines. Awesome on level grounds and downhill. Acceleration in first, second and third gears has improved exponentially also.
Well, that's it for the drivetrain. Next up - replacing the wood bed.
