I am hopefully buying a '52 Chevy 1/2 ton shortbox tomorrow. It is in ok shape with lots of dents but not much rust and doesn't have an engine or tranny. I plan on rebuilding it to look mostly stock and it will be a weekend driver.
I would like some opinions on whether to go the V8 route (auto tranny, change rear, upgrade brakes, etc.) or go with a 235 (or 262 if I find one) with a few performance upgrades and a rear end gear kit. I'm leaning towards the inline 6 but am not sure about cost and reliability.
