On 41 to 46 chevy the month is the 2 digits next to model letters. My '44 1.5 ton chevy is 09MS28XXXX would be a 28 month of production, rather than a letter to month, 42 model year this is also a war production truck without ground/leaded welds and no chrome or shiny metal
the '42 model year lasted until '45
