Got my truck running this weekend. Had a problem with oiling the rockers. I just groung a groove through the threads on the center pass head bolt. I think my engine guy installed the wrong head gasket and it blocked off oil supply to rockers. Anyway that solved the problem. I got 35 lbs oil prssure and the cam I got gives it a little rumpy idle
The 5 speed works fantastic but I think my rear end gear (3.73) is a little steep. I think a 4.11 would be perfect if anyone decides to do this same swap. The truck sits a little tilted as I removed some leaf springs to get the ride height down a little. No biggie I just need to remove one more leaf from the pass side front and I think it will sit right. Had to move radiator forward even with the short water pump conversion :mad: and had to trim the fan to clear the bolt I installed to hold the harmonic balancer on tight. All and all I'm very pleased with the result. My turning radius stinks though. Need to investigate that. Thanks fot all the help everyone. I'll post more pics on my site soon.
