Kevin, you will not be able to hold that tight enough to steer it with out the cab or some sort of upper brace. I thought mine was loose to, but now that the truck is together, everything is fine. There is just to much leverage for the small clamp to try and hold. With the way the old frames flex, and cabs mounted with hold down springs, they may want a little movement at that location. Movement keeps things from binding up!
