Well, as much as I don't want to say this, I'll go ahead and swallow my pride.
I drove all day up there, extremely excited and all. I get to the restaraunt we're meeting at and see the truck. BEAUTIFUL. Absolutely gorgeous truck. So, I go talk to him inside, we do all the paperwork, I pay him, and bang, it's mine. I head on out to it. Well it's a manual, and while I have driven a manual a few times before, this was still a (new) truck (to me anyways). So I pull out, headin over to the hotel, and I shift from 1st to 2nd. It jams for some reason and I coasted into a waffle house across the street. After that, I can't get the truck to start. I give him a call because I don't know whether to be worried or [censored] off. He comes across the street, and fixes it, and jumps it. I go ahead and drive it around town for a little while, and it drives pretty good. I go ahead and go to the hotel and park it. My truck is here. Next morning, I wake up go out, load all our stuff, and go to start the truck. Turn it over, nothing. Give it some choke, nothing. Pump it a tad, nothing. I get a jump and it starts right up. I go ahead and back it up, then put it into first, when it jolts to a stop and dies. I turn the key off, then back on, and nothing. After FOUR jumps, each ending in the jolt to a dead truck, I get pretty mad and I call the guy up. He comes on over, and once again gets it going okay. After realizing that somethings gotta be wrong, whether it be the alternator, and obviously the battery can't hold a charge for NOTHING, I decided that this truck, even though I ventured 400 miles for it, just doesn't feel right. I could have fixed it sure, but it just didn't feel right and I didn't feel comfortable with it. Worried all the way home about how you guys would make fun of me. Anyways, that's the end of the story. Half of me is sad, half of me is okay. I went ahead and decided that for now, I'll go ahead and get a 94 and after a while, when the time is right, I will go stovebolt shopping again. Not to say I won't still be on this website, shoot I'm ADDICTED!
One more thing - I bet if any of you have a couple thousand laying around, just drive from DFW to Amarillo and you'll see something like 200+ Stovebolts along the way. Geeezzz.
