Don't forget to look over the belts and hoses before you take off. If they look iffy, maybe buy a replacement to take with. Take some antifreeze, or at least a jug of water.
Also, take a look at the rubber hoses in the brake lines. Should be one to each front wheel and one from the frame to the rear axle. If they look bad get 'em replaced at the tire dealer.
