My answer for how much you should pay...try to decide what you want for a final product. Look at the truck you are going to buy...how much of it are you going to Re-buy in the form of new/replacement parts? Add it all up and see what you come up with. I looked at $1,000 41-46s and learned that by the time I paid for a new bed, doors, fenders etc, I had exceeded the cost of the "expsensive" truck I bought. Best part is...my wife was doing the math with me while we looked at a couple of parts catalogs... nice when she looks at you and tells you to spend the big money....
If I told you how much I paid, the folks from the dry warm climates would think I was CRAZY. But I got mine back on the road in only a few months...so to me, it was worth it.
